Jubilee Party Leader and presidential aspirant Dr. Fred Matiang’i has received a major political boost after being officially endorsed by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru of Jesus Is Alive Ministries.
Speaking during a Sunday service hosted by the prelate, Dr. Matiang’i issued a stern warning against state-sponsored political hooliganism and called for restored discipline, order, and decisive governance across Kenya.
Dr. Matiang’i attended the worship service in Nairobi alongside a high-profile delegation of political figures, including Kitutu Chache South MP Hon. Anthony Kibagendi, Kitutu Masaba MP Hon. Clive Gisairo, former Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu, and former Borabu MP Hon. Ben Momanyi, among other leaders.
Addressing the congregation, Dr. Matiang’i strongly denounced the deliberate disruption of public gatherings and places of worship, reaffirming that Kenya is a constitutional democracy where citizens enjoy the unalienable freedom to worship and assemble without fear or harassment.
“I strongly believe in discipline and order. The lawlessness you see here—much of it engineered by political figures in Nairobi—is nonsense that I personally will not tolerate,” Dr. Matiang’i declared.
He singled out leaders who sponsor violence, arguing that such actions reflect gross incompetence and leadership failure. “Those who deploy goons to disrupt other people’s meetings have failed in their own responsibilities. The church must be respected. Kenya requires firm, principled leadership that upholds the rule of law and executes its mandate with integrity.”
The former Interior Cabinet Secretary emphasized that his presidential bid is driven by a desire to restore constitutional order and curb impunity.
“We cannot allow this lawlessness to define our nation. Citizens deserve a free environment to pursue their lives within the law. That is why some of us have stepped forward—to offer direction. Should we be granted the opportunity to lead, we will eliminate this culture of impunity because we believe in discipline,” he added.
Dr. Matiang’i linked the rising security challenges and political interference in Nairobi directly to poor governance, urging Kenyans to demand a complete leadership overhaul.
“If the current security failures in Nairobi—including paid goons invading sacred spaces and public forums—are the result of bad leadership, then that is precisely the leadership we must change,” he insisted. “Working alongside citizens and a united opposition, I am confident we can transform this country and establish meaningful governance.”
Encouraging Bishop Wanjiru to remain steadfast, Dr. Matiang’i pledged to work closely with her and other opposition leaders to foster national unity.
“Bishop, do not lose heart or retreat. I am fully committed to this journey alongside my opposition colleagues to unite our nation. I will work with you, Bishop—show me the way forward in Nairobi so we can execute meaningful work and bring real change in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.”
The official endorsement by Bishop Margaret Wanjiru marks a crucial milestone in Dr. Matiang’i’s political footprint in the capital, strengthening his platform centered on national security, respect for sacred institutions, constitutionalism, and unified opposition leadership.
