The opposition has reaffirmed that they will continue criticising the Kenya Kwanza government without fear.

Led by the former ruling Jubilee Party, they alleged that President William Ruto’s government has failed in the war on corruption, alleging that it was still dragging the country behind.

Limuru parliamentary seat aspirant Stephen Mwangi, who is popularly known as “Wa ma Connections,” said a state cannot grow while corruption is being felt in nearly all sectors.

Mwangi revealed that Kenyans are not happy since the issue of corruption is being discussed by nearly all citizens, meaning that they know a lot of public funds are going into the wrong pockets and that some services are not available unless one has something to offer.

On the other hand, a lot of people are still angry about how the youthful protesters named Gen Zs, who were against the 2024/25 Finance Bill, were beaten, tear-gassed, and even killed, Mwangi said.

“When this government took over from former president Uhuru Kenyatta, so many Kenyans had a lot of trust in it and had a lot of expectations, but today, even their supporters are an angry and frustrated lot,” he said.

Speaking in Limuru town in Limuru constituency, Kiambu County, Mwangi urged locals to support the opposition since it will not keep quiet until Kenyans know the truth.
Speaking to tens of Jubilee Party members in the constituency, Mwangi urged them to support their party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, to succeed Ruto.

“We all know Dr. Matiang’i is named ‘Mr. Fix It’; given a chance, he can transform this country and make it a better country that we can enjoy living in.”

However, Mwangi said the opposition parties were working as a team, revealing that when the right time comes to name their presidential candidate, they will pick one, adding that they hope to pick Dr. Matiang’i.
