Alice Ng’ang’a and Kogi Investor Pledge Total Empowerment for Kiambu Women

In a powerful display of political intent and socio-economic advocacy, Thika Town Member of Parliament Alice Ng’ang’a has declared her readiness to lead Kiambu County, promising a double-dose of empowerment by aligning national and county resources to lift women out of poverty.

Speaking during a high-profile Women Enterprise Fund (WEF) empowerment program at the Kiambu National Polytechnic, Ng’ang’a—who also chairs the Parliamentary Committee on Social Protection—was joined by prominent businessman and Kiambu Senatorial hopeful, Mr. Kogi, popularly known as Kogi Investor.

    Kogi investor, senator seat aspirant.

The MP highlighted the transformative power of the Women Enterprise Fund, citing the testimony of Paulina, a mother from Thika whose group started with a loan of Ksh 100,000 and has since grown their enterprise to a Ksh 1 million limit by diversifying into avocado, vegetable, and maize farming across Kiambu and Murang’a counties. Ng’ang’a told the cheering crowd that women are like fire because when they are given money, it reaches the home and performs great things. She noted that the repayment rate in Kiambu is serious and deadly, proving that the women of the region are not just borrowers but disciplined builders of the economy.

Ng’ang’a, who is increasingly referred to by supporters as “Mama Simba,” hinted strongly at her 2027 gubernatorial ambitions during the forum. She pledged that under her leadership, the county government would match national funds to ensure that when the national government provides money for women and youth, the county will provide a corresponding amount. She also promised to start a specific project for the elderly so they too can have money in their pockets and live with dignity in their homes.

The forum also addressed the rising cases of violence against women and children with a firm stance. Senatorial hopeful Kogi Investor used the platform to issue a stinging condemnation of perpetrators of Gender-Based Violence. He stated that he is a supporter of women because he was born and raised by one and has a family of his own, and he called for an end to the killing of girl children and the physical abuse of wives in the home. Kogi emphasized that women are the engine of multiplication in society and promised that as Senator, he would come back to remind the governor to set aside specific funds for women and the elderly.

The event, which was attended by the Cabinet Secretary and Principal Secretary for Gender and Affirmative Action, concluded with the distribution of checks to various women’s groups. Ng’ang’a urged all women in attendance not to take the opportunity for granted and to apply for the funds immediately. She told the crowd that the alliance between herself and Kogi signals a focus on pocket-finances and the “Bottom-Up” economic model, specifically targeting the grassroots woman as the primary driver of Kiambu’s future prosperity and safety.
