    Tower Sacco Marks Ushirika Day with Four National Awards

    Tower Deposit Taking (DT) Sacco has strengthened its position as one of Kenya’s leading cooperative financial institutions after receiving four prestigious national awards during the 104th Ushirika Day celebrations held in Nairobi, underscoring its commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and prudent financial management.

    The accolades were presented during the national celebrations held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, recognizing the Sacco’s outstanding performance among employer-based deposit-taking Saccos with total assets exceeding KSh30 billion.

    Tower Sacco was named the Most Improved DT Sacco in its category, while also earning the Second Best Efficient DT Sacco award. The institution further received recognition as the Second Best DT Sacco in Risk Management and the Third Best DT Sacco in Technology Optimization, reflecting its continued investment in sound governance, digital transformation, and sustainable growth.

    The awards come at a significant moment for the Sacco as it celebrates Tower@50, marking five decades of service to members and communities through the cooperative movement. The milestone highlights the institution’s long-standing contribution to financial inclusion and economic empowerment since its establishment.

    In its Ushirika Day message, Tower Sacco expressed gratitude to its members, attributing the achievements to their loyalty, confidence, and continued support over the years.

    The Sacco noted that it remains Kenya’s leading Sacco in member returns, having declared dividends of 20 percent on share capital and rebates of 13 percent on share deposits, a performance it says reflects prudent financial management and a commitment to maximizing value for members.

    Management emphasized that the national recognition belongs not only to the institution but also to its members, whose trust has enabled Tower Sacco to maintain strong financial performance while embracing innovation and strengthening its risk management framework.

    The institution reaffirmed its commitment to delivering quality financial services anchored on excellence, integrity, and technological advancement as it continues expanding products and services to meet the evolving needs of its membership.

    As the cooperative movement celebrated the 104th Ushirika Day under the global theme of promoting cooperative enterprises as drivers of sustainable economic development, Tower Sacco said it remains dedicated to empowering members, creating wealth, and contributing to Kenya’s socio-economic transformation.

    The Sacco concluded by thanking its members for their unwavering support, assuring them that it will continue building on its legacy of excellence while pursuing even higher standards of service delivery.

    With four national awards added to its growing list of achievements and its golden jubilee celebrations underway, Tower Sacco has reaffirmed its standing as one of Kenya’s top-performing deposit-taking Saccos, demonstrating that member-centered governance, innovation, and sound financial stewardship remain at the heart of its success.
