Police are investigating a case in which a business lady was stabbed to death by unknown people at Nyambari trading center in Lari sub county in Kiambu county on Sunday.

It was reported that, the lady was attacked by a gang at Naivasha stage along the busy Nairobi Nakuru highway, as she was waiting for a matatu.

Detectives probing the incident were informed that, the victim who works in Naivasha, had left her matrimonial home at 5am and proceeded to the stage.

Lari sub county police commander Emily Ngaruiya said it was reported that unknown vehicle stopped and the occupants attacked her with knives.

Ngaruiya said the attackers left her bleeding at the stage alone, and left without stealing anything from her.

“We are investigating to establish the motive of the attack as well as to know who these attackers were” the police boss said.

The incident has so many residents, urging the detectives to investigate if there were highway attackers.

Simon Njenga, said people need to be careful along the highways at dawn and late at night, since one can be attacked by unknown, evil people.

“The incident is not as a result of insecurity. It has so many questions. We hope the police will discover in their investigations” he said.

“However, what is important is everyone should take extra care while along the highway during the odd hours in the night and dawn. If it is possible, people should not be alone during those hours” Njenga added.
