Former MP Kimani Ngunjiri Warns Deputy President Kindiki Over Ruto’s Political Strategy

Former Bahati Member of Parliament Onesmus Kimani Ngunjiri has cautioned Deputy President Kithure Kindiki that he faces an inevitable political fallout with President William Ruto. Ngunjiri described the President’s approach to political alliances as a calculated pattern of using and discarding allies once their utility has expired.

Ngunjiri highlighted this warning following recent public appearances by Kindiki and his engagements with elders. He claimed that the Deputy President is merely the latest figure in a long line of politicians who will eventually be sidelined by the head of state.

The former lawmaker compared the current political climate to his own past experiences working alongside the President. He maintained that Ruto possesses a complex and unpredictable political strategy, which he described as the policy of use and dump.

According to Ngunjiri, many previous allies of the President, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, have already experienced this treatment. He said that individuals who once defended the President were later abandoned after helping him achieve his objectives.

Ngunjiri referenced biblical teachings, specifically Matthew 19:27, to underscore his disillusionment with the transactional nature of their former political partnership. He stated that he once questioned the value of loyalty in politics, echoing the disciples’ concerns about the rewards for their dedication.

The former MP expressed skepticism about Kindiki’s recent attempts to broaden his political base outside his traditional strongholds. He suggested that by moving into different regions and engaging with different communities, the Deputy President is attempting to navigate a political landscape that is already turning against him.

He alleged that the President intentionally creates divisions within regions to solidify his own control. Ngunjiri warned that Kindiki will not be spared from this process, as he believes the President is already preparing to replace him.

The former legislator urged the Deputy President to prepare for his eventual exit from the inner circle. He maintained that the cycle of political abandonment is automatic and unavoidable for those who rely solely on the President’s favor.

Ngunjiri further claimed that historical political transitions in Kenya often involve the same recurring themes of betrayal and shifting alliances. He warned that the Deputy President’s current efforts to align himself with new constituencies will ultimately prove futile against the President’s established methods.

Addressing Kindiki directly, the former MP suggested that the time for his influence is rapidly fading. He asserted that the President prefers those he can easily control rather than partners who command independent political weight.

The former Bahati representative concluded by reiterating that the political trajectory for the current Deputy President remains set on a path toward exclusion. He characterized the relationship as fundamentally exploitative and advised the Deputy President to anticipate his own removal from office.
