Public Participation Set for Laureate–Windsor Road Upgrade in Thindigua

Residents and other stakeholders in Thindigua, Kiambu County, are set to participate in a public consultation forum on the proposed upgrading of the Laureate–Kasarini–Windsor Road under the second phase of the project.

The consultation, organised by the office of Kiambu Constituency MP Machua Waithaka in collaboration with the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA), is scheduled for Monday, September 21, 2026.

    Laureate-Kasarini-Windsor road upgrade ongoing

According to the notice, the meeting will begin at 9:30am and will be held along the proposed project road, at the junction connecting ACK St Mary’s School to the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club road.

The proposed Phase II works are expected to cover approximately 1.2 kilometres, extending from Laureate Road through the Kasarini area towards Windsor.

The public participation forum is intended to give residents an opportunity to receive information on the proposed works and engage officials on issues surrounding the project before implementation.

Residents, property owners, road users, community representatives, stakeholders and other interested parties have been invited to attend.

The meeting is also expected to provide a platform for members of the public to raise concerns, seek clarification on the proposed road improvement and submit views that could inform the project.

The planned upgrade comes amid continued development and population growth in the Thindigua and wider Kiambu Road corridor, where increased residential, commercial and institutional activity has placed growing demands on local transport infrastructure.

Improved road connectivity in the area could have implications for access to homes, businesses, schools and other facilities, while potentially easing movement between Thindigua, Windsor and adjoining neighbourhoods.

Public participation is a key component of government infrastructure planning, allowing affected communities and other stakeholders to raise issues concerning project design, implementation and its potential impact.

KURA, the agency responsible for the development, rehabilitation and maintenance of national urban roads, will participate in the consultation alongside the constituency office.

The forum will therefore offer residents an opportunity to engage directly with officials on the scope of the proposed Phase II works, timelines and other matters relating to the project.

Members of the public have been encouraged to attend and present their views as the proposed upgrading moves through the consultation stage.
