“We were going home in a plot near his bar and we noted a person lying in a pool of blood and a nearby bar which was not closed. It was raining heavily. One of us started screaming and his noise attracted so many people to come” said Antony Mungai, a resident.
Mungai said that locals identified him and contacted his family, national government administration officer’s as well as the police who arrived shortly.
Kimani’s friend Stephen Kimemia described him as hardworking since he a bar, a hotel and had doing some other businesses.
“He was a respectable gentle, a down to earth person. He did speak in a loud voice, since he valued all people. He observed them as customers ” Kimemia said.
However, bar owners have raised concern over insecurity, saying even as the murder being treated as an isolated case, security need to be tightened.
“Security in this region is not questionable. We do not have any issue with it. All we need now is patrols from the police so that one may not be ambushed by thugs and be killed” said Jacquiline Wamaitha, a bar attendant.
However, a detective who did not want to be quoted owing to his rank, said they have embarked on investigations so as to establish what really happened and probably arrest the murderer.
