A Jubilee Party politician has defended it’s party leader Uhuru Kenyatta as independent to associate himself with different politicians as well as give his political views.

Limuru parliamentary seat aspirant Stephen Mwangi dismissed President William Ruto’s claims that he was funding the opposition.

Mwangi who is a Jubilee Party member said Ruto should respect Uhuru as a former president who did not dwell much of politics but concentrated on developing the country.

He also noted that, the former head if state has the freedom to fund anyone he feels supporting and that should not bother the incumbent.

The politician also noted that, Uhuru accommodated him as his second in command even after showing sings of disagreeing with him and also even failing to support his preferred candidate Raila Odinga who he wanted to succeed him.

“The president should concentrate with his work. He has a lot of work to do, to serve Kenyans. He should not be worried when politicians speak, meet amd even make statements. When he speak about Uhuru, he does not only insult the retired president, but it’s an attack to the opposition as well as the whole country”, Mwangi said.

“We call upon the president to leave alone with the retired president since he was not interested in any seat”, he said.

Speaking to party delegates at Kiboko hotel in Limuru town, Mwangi urged the delegates to drum up support for party’s deputy leader Dr Fred Matiangi saying he will make an approachable, development minded and public concerned government.

The politicians said Uhuru demonstrated to the country how Dr Matiang’i can do, since he had been bestowed with super cabinet secretary.
