The Kiambu Police Canteen, situated at the Kiambu Bazaar, has drawn sharp criticism from the local community following allegations of bias under its new management. Multiple vendors who operated kiosks within the facility claim they were abruptly removed from their business premises without any formal notice.
Affected traders have specifically pointed to the newly appointed County Police AP Commander as the primary driver behind these sudden changes. Displaced business owners expressed frustration over their treatment, describing the leadership’s approach as unceremonious and unprofessional.
Internal reports from the Kiambu Observer suggest the facility is currently plagued by persistent leadership wrangles. Despite various attempts to mediate the situation and restore order within the canteen’s administration, these internal conflicts reportedly remain unresolved.
The evicted vendors allege that their property and merchandise were destroyed during the process, leading to significant financial losses. Consequently, the traders are now demanding compensation and have signaled their intention to pursue legal action. Efforts to obtain a formal statement from the involved administration were unsuccessful.
