Police in Lari Sub-county, Kiambu, are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a middle-aged man whose body was discovered along the Mau Mau Road in Gitithia Village.
Local residents flocked to the scene in Lare Sub-location after the body was discovered early morning. Simon Mburu, a resident, noted that the community was alerted by a group of women who first came across the body.
“The women started screaming, and nearly the entire village rushed to the scene to see what was happening,” Mburu said.
He added that they immediately notified the area chief, Samuel Kahoro, and local police.
Lari Sub-county Police Commander Emily Ngaruiya confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to determine the cause of death. She urged the public to provide any information that might assist detectives.
“At this stage, the cause of death remains unknown,” Ngaruiya stated. “We have launched an investigation and appeal to locals to cooperate with our officers. They are well-trained and will follow every lead.”
The body was moved to Uphome Funeral Home pending a postmortem examination.
