Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has earned international acclaim after being awarded the title of International Eminent Peace Ambassador by the International Association of World Peace Advocates in recognition of his leadership and commitment to socio-economic development.
The prestigious honour acknowledges the governor’s efforts in promoting community welfare, education, and sustainable development within Kiambu County.
Expressing his gratitude following the recognition, Governor Wamatangi described the award as a great privilege and an affirmation of the county’s development journey.
The International Association of World Peace Advocates also praised Kiambu County’s achievements in transforming Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), citing several flagship programmes implemented under the governor’s administration.

Among the initiatives highlighted were the construction of modern ECDE centres across the county, the introduction of an extensive school feeding programme, and the distribution of free learning materials to learners. According to the organization, these interventions have significantly improved access to quality education while enhancing the welfare of young children.
The association noted that the county’s education programmes are in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those focused on quality education, food security, and poverty reduction.
Since assuming office, Governor Wamatangi has prioritized investments in education infrastructure and child welfare programmes aimed at creating a strong foundation for future generations. The school feeding initiative, in particular, has been credited with boosting school attendance and supporting children’s nutritional needs.
Residents, education stakeholders, and development partners welcomed the governor’s recognition, noting that it reflects the positive impact of ongoing projects across the county. Many described the award as evidence that Kiambu’s development agenda is receiving attention beyond Kenya’s borders.
The International Association of World Peace Advocates is a global organization dedicated to promoting peace, humanitarian causes, sustainable development, and effective governance around the world.
The award places Governor Wamatangi among distinguished leaders recognized internationally for implementing programmes that foster social progress, improve livelihoods, and strengthen community development.
Speaking after receiving the honour, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating development projects and improving service delivery across Kiambu County. He said the recognition would inspire his administration to continue pursuing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for residents.
