2027 Elections
A Kiambu County politician has cautioned President William Ruto that strong support from the Mt. Kenya region is vital for his 2027 re-election. David Mbiu, former KANU Kiambu branch chairman, highlighted national economic struggles and advised reconciliation with key leaders like Uhuru Kenyatta and Rigathi Gachagua. Mbiu also warned against replacing Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, emphasizing the risk of losing significant regional support.
A politician cautions against too many strong presidential candidates, warning they could divide the vote-rich Mt. Kenya region. Stephen Mwangi highlighted that while fielding candidates is democratic, a fragmented vote might inadvertently ensure President William Ruto’s easy re-election in 2027. He urges unity among residents.
