Speaking during the medical camp, Zetech University Vice Chancellor Prof. Njenga Munene thanked Lions Eye Hospital for partnering with the university to help those facing vision challenges. Munene noted that eye problems affect both the elderly and the young and urged Kenyans to treat the elderly with care, dignity, and ensure they live healthy, fulfilling lives.

Maureen Wanjiru, a medical officer from Lions Eye Hospital, said some of the major conditions affecting the elderly include cataracts and complications related to lifestyle diseases such as diabetes. She assured patients that those diagnosed with cataracts or other serious eye conditions would be scheduled for free surgeries at their facility.
