Kiambu governor Kimani Wamatangi has asked locals to keep praying for him since he is facing a lot of political challenges.

He said that he was not taking lightly the alleged graft investigations he is facing and the destruction of his businesses in Nairobi.

He assured residents of Kamburu ward in Lari constituency that, the investigators will not find anything fishy in his books, saying he serves the county faithfully and transparently.

“The investigators have visited our offices in Kiambu and at home on different occasions and have never found anything suspicious or that can stand corruption” he said.

Wamatangi attributed his woes to the growth the county had, assuring locals that he will not back off and stop working.

“I know those attacking me politically are those who wanted we go out and play politics but I declined. The leaders who play too much politics end up not serving their electorates” he said.

He was accompanied by Kijabe Member of County Assembly Nyutu Wamwere where he distributed cheques to students from the needy families from that ward.

Wamwere also urged locals to keep praying for the governor and the county MCA’s who support Wamatangi since he need peace while serving.

The Kijabe MCA revealed that, the MCA’s will reject any impeachment motion brought to the assembly requesting to remove Wamatangi from office.

“We have seen how Wamatangi has been serving us. He was been walking with us. As MCA’s, since we support his administration, we will reject any impeachment motion that will be brought to our assembly. That will not go through” Wamwere said.

The MCA also decried that secondary schools were not performing well in national examinations.

He challenged locals to motivate learners asking Wamatangi to support them so as to see students performance had improved.

He said there were some secondary schools whose best candidates had Ds in last year’s KCSE exams, saying that was very unfortunate.
