Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has promised to ensure that all the health facilities his administration is currently constructing will be fully functional by mid-next year.
Speaking during his empowerment program in Riabai Ward, which provided farmers with inputs such as fertilizer, maize seedlings, and piglets, the Governor stated that all Level Four facilities would be upgraded to Level Five to ensure high-quality services.
He particularly highlighted the investments his administration had made at the Kiambu Level Five Hospital, where modern, state-of-the-art machines, including an X-ray machine, had been installed to ensure patients who visited the facility were attended to promptly.
He promised to ensure the swift completion of the Gititu Health Centre in Riabai, which is now poised to be upgraded to a Level Five hospital, noting that this would greatly benefit the area’s residents.
On his part, Riabai Member of County Assembly (MCA) Hezron Gachui lauded the Governor, saying that due to his relentless efforts as the then Senator for Kiambu County and Chairperson of the Senate Roads Committee, he ensured that roads totaling nine kilometers were tarmacked.
Gachui further noted that the effort put into developing the Riabai Polytechnic to its current status would bring young people to a central place where they will be able to acquire new and better skills for the job market, being equipped with modern equipment.
He reiterated his support for the Governor, saying that much had been achieved in the ward courtesy of the Governor’s support. He accused those criticizing the administration of “always being idle and seeing nothing good coming from the County Government.”
Other MCAs accompanying the Governor—
Francis Koina (Kiambu Township), Lawrence Mwaura (Ting’ang’a), and J. Chogi (Ndumberi)—said that through the supplementary budget passed by the assembly, they were able to ensure that the Governor could work on the remaining projects now that the budget had been seamlessly adopted.
