A devastating road accident in Naivasha, Nakuru County, has left a family in Kiambu shattered after architect Sam Jones Ndichu and his wife, Nina Anne, lost their lives on Friday. The couple was traveling back to their home in Kiambu when their vehicle rear-ended a lorry along a busy stretch of highway.
Family members learned of the tragedy in the early morning hours following the crash. Relatives, speaking through profound grief, highlighted the heartbreaking reality that the couple leaves behind their young child. “We are now left with their kid who was left behind as the couple travelled,” one grieving relative told the Kiambu Observer, underscoring the sudden void left in the child’s life.
Sam Ndichu’s mother, affectionately known in the community as Njeri wa Shelter Insurance and based at MAPA House in Kiambu town, was described as being utterly devastated. She was too overwhelmed with sorrow to comment to the media, as the shock of losing her son and daughter-in-law enveloped the family.
Burial arrangements are currently in progress at the couple’s family home in Kiambu, located on suburban drive, near Village Inn along Njathaini Road. The community has rallied around the bereaved, with preparations underway amid an outpouring of condolences.
This incident adds to the growing concerns over road safety on Kenyan highways, particularly sections prone to heavy traffic and collisions involving lorries. Authorities are likely investigating the circumstances, though details on the exact cause remain limited at this stage.
