Kenya is seeking to deepen its partnership with Kuwait in digital transformation, technology and skills development as the Government accelerates efforts to move public services online.
Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo said the Government was ready to expand cooperation with Kuwait in areas that support Kenya’s digitalisation agenda.
Mr Kabogo said this after hosting Kuwait’s Ambassador to Kenya, Anas Talib Ali Marafi, for a courtesy call to discuss bilateral relations and new areas of cooperation.
The talks centred on opportunities for collaboration in Kenya’s digital transformation, particularly the Government’s efforts to digitalise public services and improve access to government services through technology.
“Our discussions focused on identifying areas of collaboration in Kenya’s digital transformation agenda, particularly as we work towards the digitalisation of government services,” Mr Kabogo said.
He said Kenya welcomed Kuwait’s continued support and was prepared to explore additional areas of partnership in technology, skills development and other sectors of mutual interest.
The engagement comes as the Government places digital transformation at the centre of efforts to modernise public administration, improve service delivery and expand opportunities for citizens and businesses.
Kenya has been pursuing the digitisation of government services through online platforms, digital infrastructure and increased access to technology, with the aim of reducing the cost and time involved in accessing public services.
Mr Kabogo said stronger international partnerships would be important in advancing the country’s technology agenda, particularly in developing skills and strengthening digital capabilities.
The meeting also highlighted the broader longstanding relations between Kenya and Kuwait, with both countries seeking to identify areas where bilateral cooperation can deliver greater economic and technological benefits.
The CS said Kenya remained open to partnerships that can support innovation, technology transfer, skills development and the country’s wider digital economy ambitions.
The discussions are expected to provide a basis for further engagement between the two countries as Kenya positions technology and digital services as key drivers of economic growth and public-sector reform.
