Airtel Money customers can now make direct payments to Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) Till Moja merchants and deposit funds into their DTB accounts, following a major strategic partnership unveiled today.

The collaboration is specifically designed to empower Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) by offering more flexible and convenient ways to receive payments, while simultaneously enhancing financial access for individual customers across Kenya.

The new integration allows Airtel Money users to instantly and securely deposit money from their mobile wallets directly into any DTB account. This feature, alongside the ability to pay DTB Till Moja merchants, streamlines crucial financial activities, making it easier for customers to manage their finances, send money, and pay bills without the need to visit a physical bank branch or payment outlet.

Adding further value, customers will receive a guaranteed 50 percent cashback as airtime on all Paybill transactions, significantly boosting the affordability of daily mobile transactions.

Anne Kinuthia-Otieno, Managing Director of Airtel Money Kenya, emphasized the commitment to creating a seamless financial ecosystem.

“While customers have previously been able to send funds to DTB accounts, this new feature now extends that convenience to DTB Till Moja merchants, creating even more value for our customers and for small businesses,” she stated.

Kinuthia-Otieno highlighted that the initiative aims to remove barriers to financial inclusion, making transactions faster, simpler, and safer. “This enhances convenience and supports the growth of a more inclusive digital economy where every customer and small business owner can transact seamlessly, affordably, and securely,” she added.

DTB’s Director of Retail Banking, George Otiende, echoed this sentiment, underscoring the bank’s focus on customer-centric solutions.

“At DTB, our priority is to provide customers with multiple payment options that fit their everyday needs,” said Otiende. “This partnership with Airtel Money is a step forward in removing barriers to accessing banking services, especially for SMEs and individuals who rely on mobile money for convenience.”

The partnership is poised to significantly benefit customers in rural and underserved areas who depend heavily on mobile money for daily transactions, by lowering costs and making financial services more convenient and accessible.

Customers can begin transacting immediately by using the Airtel Money App or by dialing the USSD code *334# to deposit into any DTB account or pay DTB Till Moja merchants.
