Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has arrived at Kabarak University in Nakuru County to preside over the institution’s 21st Graduation Ceremony as the Chief Guest. The retired Head of State was received by the University Chancellor, Hon. Dr. Gideon Moi, and other senior university officials amidst a colorful reception at the main campus. Dressed in full academic regalia, Kenyatta joined the academic procession, marking a significant moment for the 2,390 graduands set to be conferred with various degrees and diplomas.

The ceremony, held on Friday, December 19, 2025, serves as a major milestone for the institution founded by Kenya’s second president, the late Daniel arap Moi. The event has drawn thousands of attendees, including parents, guardians, and political leaders, who have gathered to celebrate the academic achievements of the Class of 2025. This year’s graduation theme underscores the university’s commitment to producing holistic leaders equipped with biblical values and professional excellence.

Kabarak University has established a tradition of hosting prominent national figures during its graduation ceremonies. The 21st congregation follows the 20th graduation held in December 2024, which was graced by the late Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga. Today’s event reinforces the university’s stature as a premier private institution in Kenya, maintaining close ties with the country’s political leadership due to the legacy of its founder.

According to official university records, the 2,390 graduands include students from undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs. The presence of Uhuru Kenyatta is particularly significant as it highlights his continued engagement in public life and support for the education sector following his retirement. In his capacity as Chief Guest, the former President is expected to deliver a keynote address focusing on leadership, national unity, and the role of education in economic development.
