Several people are feared dead after a lorry crashed into a hardware shop in Mutarakwa, Kiambu County, on Saturday, October 25. The incident occurred along the Mutarakwa-Maai Mahiu Road, turning a busy commercial area into a scene of emergency response.
Eyewitness accounts and initial reports indicate the lorry, which was carrying cargo, lost control and collided with the shop, causing significant damage. The crash happened around midday, scattering debris and prompting immediate action from local authorities.
Police and emergency services arrived at the scene to assist with rescue efforts. An investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
This incident follows a separate head-on collision near Gilgil on the Nakuru-Nairobi Highway earlier that morning, which claimed at least six lives.
Authorities have advised the public to stay clear of the area while operations continue. Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
