New Youth-Led Political Party, “47 Voices,” Emerges in Kenya

A fresh political voice is rising in Kenya with the provisional registration of the 47 Voices of Kenya Congress Party, a youth-led movement representing all 47 counties. Under the unifying slogan “Sauti Kila Mahali” (A Voice Everywhere), the party promises to champion integrity, inclusivity, and grassroots empowerment as it launches a nationwide recruitment drive starting July 16.

A new political force has emerged in Kenya with the provisional registration of the “47 Voices of Kenya Congress Party.” Comprising young leaders from all 47 of the nation’s communities, the party aims to offer an alternative political platform to advance their social and development agendas under the slogan “Sauti Kila Mahali” (A Voice Everywhere).

Party officials and members celebrated receiving their provisional certificate from Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu at the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in Westlands’ Lions Place building. They described the two-year journey to registration as challenging but ultimately rewarding.

Wycliffe Kamanda, the party’s chairman and acting party leader, expressed gratitude to the ORPP for their guidance throughout the registration process. “We thank the ORPP for the professional manner they handled the registration of our party,” Kamanda stated. “This milestone is not just a legal recognition but a powerful validation of the aspirations of the many voices that we represent.”

Kamanda explained that the party was formed out of a need for a platform that aligns with their ideologies, which they felt were not adequately represented in existing parties. He emphasized that “47 Voices” will provide Kenyans with a space to freely express their views.

The party currently has no intentions of merging with or affiliating with other political factions. Instead, its immediate focus is on a nationwide recruitment drive. “Our party touches everybody, every community, and it will be in every corner of this nation,” Kamanda affirmed. “Our party unites all the 47 counties.”

Jibril Manyasa, the party’s secretary-general, highlighted the courage of young leaders in achieving this political breakthrough. “For the first time, a political party has been founded by young leaders who have been recognized under the laws of this country,” he remarked.

Manyasa added that “47 Voices” will champion real change, with its values anchored in integrity, innovation, and building a political movement that actively listens and instills trust in leadership. He urged Kenyans of all ages to join the new party.

Florence Wanjiku, head of party communications, announced that nationwide recruitment will commence on July 16. “This party is a coalition of patriots – young and old, rural and urban, professional and everyday citizens, united in shared beliefs,” she stated. Wanjiku emphasized that the party’s mission is to provide a platform for Kenyans to articulate their vision for transforming the country. “I extend an invitation to the general public to engage with us,” she concluded.
