President William Ruto will win the 2027 general elections with a landslide, whether the opposition likes it or not, a kiambu based politician has said.
In damning report, the politician said the victory will leave some regions where the opposition is concentrating on too much divided.
The move he feels will be very unfortunate, dismissing the opposition style of looking for supporters as tribal, alleging that it was rotating in only a few regions.
Stephen Waweru who is popularly known as “Western”, has urged some politicians in the opposition to shift and join the UDA party in readiness for the 2027 general elections.
Waweru applauded Ruto for holding a successful UDA meeting, which indicates that the ruling party had a national outlook.
“President Ruto’s party is not only alive but very strong. It is in each and every region. It has a national outlook. We have seen all elected MP with the party will have challengers who wants those ticket for 2027 general elections, meaning that a grassroot nomination will take place” he said.
“However, in the opposition, we have noticed that they concentrate on a few regions. They do not have a national outlook. We do not want village politics, we want to play national politics” he said.
Speaking at Limuru town where he spoke to a team of young politicians, Waweru asked the opposition to refrain from taking politics in funerals and in church services and embrace also in telling the people the truth.
“At funerals and church services, once the opposition leaders gets a chance to address the publics, their business is to criticise President Ruto and his administration, something which is very unfortunate to the country” he decried.
Instead, he urged elected leaders with the UDA party to speak openly about the president and the government, so as to enable the publics realise that the work Ruto has been doing since he took over from retired President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“What are elected leaders with a UDA party ticket doing when the Ruto is being criticised but the opposition in forums such as funerals, weddings and church services” he raised the concern.
While applauding Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wa for his brevity in defending Ruto and the USA government, Waweru asked the church leaders to be careful while handling the opposition leaders fond of criticizing the head of state and the state.
Waweru said Ruto will get majority of votes since he has greatly reduced the cost of living by removing Pay As You Earn from low earners.
Other are projects that will benefit many Kenyans like the affordable housing, Nyota construction and tarmacking of roads like the Mau Mau road and the expansion of Nairobi Mau Summit road.
We has also noted that, the transformation of the health insurance into Social Health Authority, was another milestone.
“We can name a few like roads, affordable houses, SHA which people did but first did not understand but now it is working. Others are reduction of prices of food stuff, fertiliser and paye to the civil servants earning below Sh 30,000. There are other areas which he has touched and people are happy and they will vote for him secretly” Waweru added.
